at the beginning of the day
the earth is witness to a unique spectacle
free and open to all who rise early
every single day is different
sometimes, at some places,
the sun rays blast through clouds in a glorious symphony of color
other days, the deep winter grays just become a little bit more visible
this ever-changing gift is ours
to behold as we may
we can choose to ignore it
or we can choose to appreciate it
to let the newness of the present moment
shine inside our selves
to appreciate the light, we must go into the dark
learn to see the beauty of both
and see every moment as an opportunity
