i have been a witness to many unique sunrises over lake michigan these past few weeks
yet this one was especially remarkable
just before the sun became visible over the liquid horizon
the sunrays lit up the massive cloud formations above
delicate wisps started to become visible as the light increased
clinging to the solemn giants
like spanish moss hanging on ancient live oaks
a quiet and beautiful announcement
of the coming first snow dusting that was to fall just a few short hours later
